Day 36 - Rom 5:6-8 Because Christ died for the ungodly, He’s not Shocked at My Sins
Rom 5:6-8 For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. (7) For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. (8) But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
In Romans 5:6-8, we are reminded of the incredible love of God demonstrated through the death of Jesus Christ. While we were still ungodly sinners, Christ died for us. This truth is a powerful reminder that God's love for us is not based on our performance or righteousness. He loved us even in our weakest and most sinful state. Therefore, we can take comfort in knowing that Christ is not surprised or shocked by our sins. His sacrifice on the cross covers all our sins, past, present, and future. We can approach Him with confidence, knowing that His love and forgiveness are always available to us.
The death of Christ not only assures us of God's love but also reveals His desire to reconcile us to Himself. While we were still enemies of God, He reconciled us through the death of His Son (Romans 5:10). This reconciliation is a testament to God's grace and mercy. It is not based on our efforts or worthiness but solely on His love and desire to restore us to a right relationship with Him. Therefore, we can rest in the assurance that God has already dealt with our sins through the sacrifice of Christ. We can approach Him with confidence, knowing that we are fully accepted and forgiven in Christ.
Because Christ died for us while we were ungodly, we can find freedom from inward condemnation. Romans 8:1-2 declares that there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. Our sins have been paid for, and we are now free from the guilt and shame that once burdened us. We can live in the reality of God's grace and walk in the freedom that Christ has provided. Instead of dwelling on our sins, we can focus on the finished work of Christ and His righteousness imputed to us. This understanding enables us to live in victory and confidently approach God, knowing that we are His beloved children.

Prayer/Confession
As I read about the incredible love of God demonstrated through the death of Jesus Christ, I am reminded that His sacrifice on the cross covers all my sins, past, present, and future. Lord, I confess that sometimes I feel ashamed and unworthy of Your love, but I know that You loved me even in my weakest and most sinful state. I thank You for reconciling me to Yourself through the death of Your Son, even when I was Your enemy. I am grateful that there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. I declare that I am free from the guilt and shame that once burdened me, and I can live in the reality of Your grace. Help me to focus on the finished work of Christ and His righteousness imputed to me, instead of dwelling on my sins. I trust in Your forgiveness and love, and I confidently approach You, knowing that I am Your beloved child. Thank You for Your mercy and grace, which are new every morning. In Jesus' name, amen.
