Day 35 - Rom 5:6-8 Because Christ died while I was weak, He’s not Expecting My Strength
Rom 5:6-8 For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. (7) For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. (8) But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
In Romans 5:6-8, we are reminded of the incredible love and grace of God demonstrated through the death of Jesus Christ. This passage reveals that Christ died for us while we were weak, sinners, and enemies of God. It is a powerful reminder that God's love for us is not dependent on our strength or abilities.
Verses
- 2 Corinthians 12:9 - "And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me."
- Romans 5:6 - "For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly."
- 1 Corinthians 1:27 - "But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;"
- Isaiah 41:10 - "Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness."
- 2 Timothy 1:7 - "For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind."
Prayer / Confession
Father, I thank you for your incredible love and grace demonstrated through the death of Jesus Christ. Thank you for reminding me that Christ died for me while I was weak, a sinner, and an enemy of God. I acknowledge that I don't have to earn your love or prove myself worthy of your grace because it is freely given to me. I rest in your strength, knowing that my weakness does not disqualify me from your love and grace.
Lord, I embrace my weaknesses and find comfort in your love and grace. I trust that you will provide the strength I need. I am free to be authentic and vulnerable before you and others, knowing that your love and acceptance are not dependent on my performance.
Thank you for your grace that is sufficient for me, and your strength that is made perfect in my weakness, as it says in 2 Corinthians 12:9. I glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
Thank you for choosing the weak things of the world to confound the mighty, as it says in 1 Corinthians 1:27. I am not disqualified because of my weaknesses, but rather qualified to enjoy everything you have for me.
Thank you, Father, for your unchanging and unwavering love for me. Amen.
