Day 41 - Rom 5:20-21 Because of Hypergrace, the atmosphere does not change for me.
Romans 5:20-21 (KJV)
Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound: That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.
In Romans 5:20-21, the Greek word for "superabounding grace" is "huperperisseuó," which means to abound exceedingly or to superabound. This is where we get the term "hypergrace." The passage states, "Moreover, the law entered that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound, so that as sin reigned in death, even so grace might reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 5:20-21, KJV).
This passage emphasizes the contrast between sin and grace. While sin abounded through the law, grace superabounded through Jesus Christ. Grace is far greater than sin and has washed it away forever. You may think your sin "abounds”, but God's grace "superabounds". The more we appreciate the superabounding grace of God towards us, the more confidently we will stand in grace, and rejoice in God. The rejoicing heart is full of the strength of God (the joy of the Lord is our strength)! This is how we will walk forever in the ages to come - we will live by a continual operation of the power of God supplied to us in a realization of His goodness, which will be our joy and our strength! We get a taste of this now as believers, and this is the "means" for the Christian life. We are not struggling to keep commands and tame ourselves; we are being renewed in the knowledge of Jesus Christ, supplied by Him and refreshed to walk in "newness of life.”
As believers, we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand because of the finished work of Jesus Christ, and we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God (Romans 5:2). We are positioned in the flow of a hyper, superabounding grace that never ceases and is not hindered. While this grace is enjoyed by faith, even when we are struggling to believe and struggling to perceive, this grace is operating in our life, because it has made Christ head over all things to the Church, and by it He is working all things together for our good, according to the counsel of His will.
This means that the atmosphere around us, as far as God is concerned, has been permanently changed. As believers, we are now in the light and have been delivered from the power of darkness (Colossians 1:13). In fact, we are even said to be light in the Lord. God the Father does not change, and there is no variance or shifting shadow in Him (James 1:17). We need vision of this superabounding grace, which is God Himself in Christ coming to us forever. We are not fluctuating in our position before God, in and out of darkness. We have been brought into the kingdom of light through Christ (1 Peter 2:9). Our standing in grace is secure because it is based on the unchanging nature of God and the finished work of Christ, and God’s heart towards us and His kind intentions are fixed and unchanging.

Prayer / Confession
Father, I thank you for your unchanging nature and for your superabounding grace towards me. I thank you that where sin abounded, grace abounded much more. Teach me to rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. I thank you that my position in grace is secure because of the finished work of Christ. I stand in faith and declare that I am delivered from the power of darkness and translated into the kingdom of your dear Son. I thank you that He is head over all things in my life, and that all things are working according to your kind intentions, the good pleasure of your will in my life. Enlighten the eyes of my heart so that I can rejoice fully in the hope of the calling and taste and enjoy the riches of the glory of your inheritance in the saints. I confess that your grace is sufficient for me, for your strength is made perfect in my weakness. Thank you that no matter what I feel, the power of Christ rests upon me, and I’m in your hand. Thank you for this unchanging atmosphere of love and light. Thank you for your unending grace and love towards me. Amen.
