Day 40 - Romans 5:20-21 Because of Hypergrace, I’m standing in a River of Blessing
Romans 5:20-21 (KJV):
"Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound: That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord."
God's superabounding grace is beautifully depicted in Romans 5:20-21. The law was given so that sin would increase, but where sin abounded, grace abounded even more. It is like a river of living water flowing out from the throne of God, constantly pouring out His abundant grace upon us. This grace is not limited or constrained, but it overflows and surpasses all sin and wrongdoing. It is a grace that is greater than our failures, our weaknesses, and our mistakes.
In this river of grace, Christ's life swallows up mortality and brings us into the flow of God's purposes and blessings. Through His obedience, a fountain of grace sprang up and flowed out as a river, washing away the sin and death that once covered the whole human race. Now, in Christ, we have access by faith into this superabounding grace in which we stand. It is a grace that not only justifies us, but also empowers us to reign in life through righteousness. It is a grace that leads us to eternal life, where we experience the fullness of God's love, joy, and peace forever.
Verses
- Romans 6:14 (KJV): "For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace."
- Ephesians 2:8-9 (KJV): "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast."
- Titus 2:11 (KJV): "For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,"
- 2 Corinthians 12:9 (KJV): "And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me."
- Hebrews 4:16 (KJV): "Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need."
Prayer / Confession
Lord, I thank You for Your superabounding grace that is freely given to me through faith in Jesus Christ. Your grace is greater than all my failures, weaknesses, and mistakes. Your grace empowers me to reign in life through righteousness and to overcome sin. I am so grateful that I am not under the law, but under grace. I come boldly to Your throne of grace to obtain mercy and find grace to help me in my time of need. Thank You for the gift of salvation and for the grace that brings it. I trust in Your grace to sustain me and to make me strong in my weakness. I declare that because of Your hypergrace, I am standing in a river of blessing, and I am filled with Your love, joy, and peace forever. Amen.
